I want to offer you a very interesting snack option this time. Tomatoes in garlic-honey filling, thanks to this very filling, acquire a piquant taste. An ideal addition to any meat or.

According to this recipe, you can pickle greenhouse or homemade (grown in the garden) tomatoes. In the first case, if greenhouse tomatoes are taken as the basis, vinegar should also be added to all the indicated ingredients.

If homemade tomatoes are poured with filling, vinegar is not added, because they already have natural acid (and greenhouse tomatoes rarely come across with sourness).

Cooking steps:

1) First of all, you need to prepare garlic-honey filling. To do this, pour vegetable oil into a deep saucer and add honey. You can use olive or sunflower refined oil. Why refined: it does not dominate the taste as much as unrefined, which has a rich aroma of seeds. I added candied honey. It is not necessary to melt it, it will “disperse” itself in the filling with stirring.

2) Peel the garlic and chop it very finely. Add to fill. Also add dry "Italian herbs", salt, ground black pepper and dry basil here (can be replaced with finely chopped fresh). Mix the filling thoroughly. I also added half a teaspoon of vinegar, because I used greenhouse tomatoes (not sour).

Ingredients:

Tomatoes 3-4 pieces, salt 2 pinches, black pepper 2 pinches, garlic 2-3 cloves, Italian herbs 2 pinches, vinegar (for non-acidic tomatoes) 0.5 tsp, honey 1 tsp, vegetable oil 50 -60 ml, basil (dry) 1 pinch.

Every season I always roll tomatoes for the winter according to different recipes. Some are repeated from year to year, some are prepared for the first time - for the sake of experiment, and there are those that you liked, but for some reason the recipe was forgotten or the turn simply did not reach it. This is exactly what the recipe for tomatoes with honey turned out to be. Before, my mother-in-law bought honey for us, and knowing its naturalness, I was sure that the preparation would turn out delicious. And the other day, my daughter bought a jar of honey from employees, and I immediately decided to roll up a few jars of tomatoes.

To preserve tomatoes with honey for the winter, prepare the necessary products from the list. Choose small tomatoes that will easily fit into a jar, and just as easily you can get them out of there.

Sterilize the jars in advance in any way convenient for you: over steam, in the oven, in the microwave or double boiler. Put pieces of horseradish leaves, 2 cloves of garlic and a dill umbrella on the bottom of each jar. If you like spicy tomatoes, add hot pepper rings right with the seeds.

Pack tomatoes tightly into jars.

Bring the water in the kettle to a boil, pour the tomatoes in jars and leave for 30 minutes, covering the jars with clean lids.

After a while, pour the water from the jars into a saucepan, add honey, salt and vinegar, stir and bring to a boil.

Pour tomatoes in jars with hot marinade and immediately roll them up with a key.

Turn the jars over onto the lids, cover with something warm and leave to cool completely.

Tomatoes prepared according to this recipe can be stored in the apartment. In winter, pickled tomatoes with honey will be appropriate at any celebration.

Happy preparations! Save with love!

In winter, pickles become incredibly popular, since there are very few fresh vegetables, and the soul asks to diversify the menu, and here all kinds of salted tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, salads and more come in handy. And in the summer, during the canning season, sometimes the most daring experiments are used, for example, tomatoes with honey for the winter. Well, such an appetizer for fans of salty-sweet snacks - tomatoes turn out juicy and soft, with a very original and pleasant honey taste, they perfectly “go” with potatoes and meat.

how to cook honey tomatoes

It is better to use small, strong, medium-ripe tomatoes for canning - they will fit more in a jar, and when you gently shake it several times, they will settle down more compactly. The fruits must be thoroughly washed, dried, and then, using a toothpick, make a puncture in the place where the stalk was - approximately to the middle of the tomato. This will prevent the tomato from popping when you pour the boiling marinade over it.

Ingredients:

  • tomatoes (about 1,500 kg),
  • honey - 2 tablespoons,
  • water - 1200 ml,
  • 1.5 tbsp salt,
  • 3 tbsp Sahara,
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 dill umbrella
  • 5-6 black peppercorns
  • 2-3 bay leaves,
  • 1 tsp vinegar essence,
  • you can add leaves of cherry, currant, horseradish.

Cooking process:

Prepare canning jars in advance - wash them with soda, rinse and dry, putting the bottoms up. Now, at the bottom of each jar, put a peeled clove of garlic, an umbrella of dill (preferably fresh), spices. Next, put the tomatoes in a jar, try to make it more compact, but do not crush the vegetables.

Boil water and pour into jars. Cover with lids and let the tomatoes stand for 5-7 minutes, then carefully drain the hot water. Repeat the procedure with clean water - pour and let stand for 5 minutes, drain. Now make a marinade - dissolve salt, sugar and honey in water, heating and stirring. When the marinade boils, pour the tomatoes in jars - this will be the third filling. Now add 1 tsp to each jar (3 l!) vinegar essence and roll up with sterile lids.

Turn the jars upside down - at the same time check the tightness. Cover with a blanket and after a couple of days put it in the pantry. Honey tomatoes can be used as a snack on their own or as an ingredient in sauces, soups, and gravies.

Bon Appetit!

Cherry tomatoes with honey for the winter. Step by step recipe

  1. Thoroughly wash the jars, but not with the newfangled "Ferry" or similar means, but with baking soda, rinse well. Since they are small in size, they can be sterilized in various convenient ways: in the oven, microwave or, as usual, over steam, you can hang the jar on the spout of the kettle. Then, carefully, so as not to burn yourself, put the neck down on a towel folded in two layers. Lids also need to be processed by boiling in water.
  2. Prepare the tomatoes, wash, dry, the tails can not be cut off, sweet pepper cut into triangles, "light" - into 2-3 parts.
  3. Put peppercorns, garlic cloves, dill umbrellas, lavrushka, basil in a jar, fill with tomatoes, put sweet peppers.
  4. Prepare a filling of 2 liters of boiling salted water and sugar, pour carefully into a jar, let stand to cool, drain back into the pan. Let the liquid boil, pour in vinegar, put honey, mix.
