Minced meat - 300 g

First, soak the rice in water for two hours. Then drain the water, let the rice dry on a cotton cloth. Transfer the rice to a plate. Prepare minced meat by grinding meat, onions, garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well and roll into balls the size of an egg in the palms of your hands.
Roll the balls in dry rice. Transfer the meatballs to the first level of the steamer and cook on the timer for 40 minutes.

Marginal notes:: I had minced chicken and I added grated tomato for color, so that the minced meat would be at least slightly different from rice in color. The minced meat turned out to be a little more liquid than necessary, so I added a couple of tablespoons of semolina to it. I think that it will be with the minced meat even prettier than chicken. But I really liked it! Delicious, delicate dish and, moreover, dietary. !!! I put some foil in the steamer so that I would not wash the grate later.

How to cook meat hedgehogs with steamed rice in a slow cooker

For the "prickly" back of hedgehogs, we need 100 grams of long-grain rice.

Boil the rice in salted water for 5 minutes, no longer needed.

Add 0.5 teaspoon of salt to the minced meat, 0.5 teaspoon of spices "For minced meat" and 1 chicken egg. In the photo I show exactly 1 egg, it just so happened that it turned out to be with two yolks.

Knead the minced meat thoroughly. If necessary, you can add a little semolina or bread crumbs if the minced meat seems thin to you.

Pour water into the multicooker pan and turn on the "Steam" mode for 40 minutes. It should be borne in mind that in some models of the multicooker, the countdown starts immediately. In my multicooker, POLARIS PMC 0512AD, the minutes only start to count down after the water in the bowl boils. We have to cook "hedgehogs" for 40 minutes, starting from the moment of boiling.

While the water is warming up, let's take care of our "prickly" friends.

We form the "body" of a hedgehog from the minced meat and roll it in rice so that only the future "muzzle" remains without rice. Immediately put the workpiece in a steaming container. I make the size of hedgehogs so that 3 pieces fit into a standard bowl.

We make eyes and a nose from black peppercorns.

As soon as the countdown begins, place the bowl with hedgehogs in the multicooker. Having opened the lid after the signal, you can see such beauties.

When serving, lettuce leaves are laid out on a plate and delicious steamed hedgehogs from minced meat with rice are placed on top of them. Remove them from the multicooker container very carefully, using a spoon so as not to damage the "prickly" skin.

The ingredients in the recipe are enough for 6 servings. I have 2 multicooker so there is no problem to prepare an unusual dinner for 6 people. You can also use a larger steamer to increase the number of servings.

1. Cooking products for hedgehogs: minced meat twisted twice in a meat grinder (on a fine wire rack), one onion, one egg, a slightly not full multi-glass of well-washed rice. Salt and black pepper.

2. Add all the ingredients to a large bowl, after making the onion puree using a blender. Be sure to add salt and black pepper.

3. Mix everything to get a homogeneous minced meat.

4. Pour 1 - 1.5 liters of water into the multicooker saucepan and install the grid for steaming dishes. Let's form small-sized koloboks, immediately putting them in a multicooker.

From this amount of minced meat, about 30 small hedgehogs are obtained. A multicooker holds half at a time. The other half can be frozen in the freezer. And next time, all that remains is to put them in a multicooker and set the desired mode.

5. I have a multicooker Polaris 0517, but there is a "steam" function in any multi. Set the program mode "Steam", cooking time 1 hour. The countdown will not start immediately, but only after the water boils, so the total cooking time will be approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. But now you can safely move on to other household chores, the multicooker will turn itself off at the right time and go into heating mode.

6. In an hour, our koloboks will turn into hedgehogs. Delicious and aromatic.

7. Serve hedgehogs better with a vegetable side dish. But it is possible with any dairy-free porridge.

Pour 1 - 1.5 liters of water into the multicooker, add bay leaf to the water for aroma, install the grill with hedgehog chicken cutlets. We turn on the "Steam" mode for about 40 minutes. We are waiting for the preparation of the dish.
