Poultry meat is the basis of dietary and baby food, especially in crushed form. And among all the variety of poultry meat, turkey is considered the most dietary. Therefore, steamed turkey cutlets are the most dietary dish you can imagine.

Such cutlets are suitable for feeding children, for a diet after an exacerbation of gastritis, for those seeking to lose weight and for those who just love to eat tasty, but right.

How much do you usually need to steam cutlets

Much depends on the cooking method. There are several ways to steam them:

  • in a multicooker with a "steamer" or "cooking" function;
  • in a steamer pan;
  • in an electric double boiler;
  • in a saucepan on an iron colander.

Unlike the meat of other poultry - chicken, the turkey is steamed for about two times longer. But turkey is considered more dietary meat than chicken. Firstly, turkey is better kept, and it is difficult to add growth hormones to its feed, it is more whimsical than chicken.

And secondly, turkey meat contains 4 times less fat. Depending on the size and thickness of the turkey cutlets, they are steamed for 30 to 60 minutes. It takes a little longer in a multicooker than in a specialized steamer.

Steamed turkey cutlets recipe for a child

These cutlets are a great option for baby food. If you cook them in a double boiler, then all the fat will drain away, and only the most useful will remain in the cutlets. Therefore, most mothers choose turkey puree for the first complementary feeding, and such cutlets for subsequent nutrition after the appearance of the first teeth.

Since the child does not eat much at a time, it is better to immediately prepare several cutlets and freeze them. And cook immediately before meals for 1-2 cutlets. This will be better than storing ready-made cutlets or fiddling with minced meat every time.

As a side dish, vegetables are perfect, which can be cooked at the same time as steamed cutlets. For children who are still choking on large food, cutlets can be crushed with a fork or even a blender.
