Everyone loves tea.

Well, who doesn't love? But this good thing also has completely different approaches: someone has a gourmet approach, and does not accept tea bags, but on the other hand, volume lovers - the taste is not important, the main thing is that it is sweeter and more. And today we will face the opinions of representatives of both tea approaches, in the form of two citrus sisters.
Which tea approach do you prefer?

Naturally, the picture would be incomplete if not Small (or not very small) story:

***
The next night began to give way to the dawn, and it's time to go to the kitchen, brew strong morning tea. Lemon Freshfruit, although she is the head of a small factory of soft drinks, which clearly did not target the audience of certain gourmets, in itself she can be called that connoisseur of fine drinks. Especially teahouses. And her every day begins with a fragrant cup of tea, always with a slice of lemon or lime - a good way to cheer up! And the very process of making tea is a rather intimate and meditative thing for Limonka, there is something pleasant in it: every cup of tea can be made unique and unrepeatable.

One selection of infusions is worth something: classic black tea - as an invariable base, and then - according to your mood. A little mint, invigorating and giving a sensation of freshness, a pinch of bergamot to give a light bitterness, well, where without the sourness from a lemon slice? And all this for one cup - no teapots or even more blasphemous tea bags! Lemon is a supporter of tea ceremonies.

Watching the measured dance of tea leaves in boiling water, the pegasus heard steps shuffling on the floor in places, and a moment later Limonka's younger sister, Tangerina, appeared in the kitchen. Judging by her clothes and early waking hours, it became immediately clear that she had a sleepless night.

The tangerine pony went to the table and took from it a huge mug, from which several tags from tea bags hung at once.
"Oh, finally cooled down!" - the filly was delighted, and confidently moved closer to her sister. A glance at her small cup traditionally gave rise to a little misunderstanding in Mandarin's curly head: "Well, how can there be so little tea?"

Which she confirmed with her statement: "The best tea is the one that is plentiful!" The filly proudly lifted a half-liter mug in front of her nose, hinting at the contrast in the amount of drinking, and then clung to her with obvious pleasure.

Lemon began to think that his sister was teasing her a little: she deliberately pulled on “Mmm ...” full of pleasure, and smacked her a little. And then Tanguy put forward a sudden proposal:
- Let's try friend-friend's teas, huh ?!

Um ... - a little embarrassed Limonka put the cup on the saucer, and then moved her tea closer to her sister.

Without thinking twice, the youngest grabbed the cup with both hooves, but quickly put it in place:
- Ay, hot!

There is a handle, - reminded the pegasus.

The earthworm did not want to take this handle, instantly thinking of leaning over to the cup to try to take at least a sip. But as soon as the lips touched the cup and its contents, Tangerina instantly pulled back, really, like scalded:
- Go-rya-cho!

Pour a little on a saucer, - Limonka advised coolly enough.

And, also blow, huh? - Awkwardly she grabbed the handle of the cup, and just as awkwardly poured a little into the saucer, naturally splashing out a few drops of tea.

She began to blow on the saucer, so much so that a few more drops adorned the beige tablecloth. And then, after drinking a little, the opinion of the tangerine pony followed:
- Without sugar - how do you drink it? Too strong, and even bitter, slightly sour because of the lemon ... it's impossible to drink. And you also drink boiling water!

But after all, only in hot water, without sugar, the tea leaf reveals its palette of taste, and the notes of bergamot give an interesting aftertaste! - tried to defend her variation of the Limonka drink.

Mhm! When is the mouth bitter? Such a quality! - sharply removed from herself the tea of the sister of the earthwalker, once again splashing it.

Mah ... - Lemon looked into the remaining volume of the cup, and then at her sister, who drank from her cup with the same pleasure in one gulp. And then the pegasus was tempted to ask: - Well, you give me yours to try!

Mm? - Tangerina was somewhat surprised, but then confidently put the mug right in front of the lemon pony: - Well, try my best tea!

Pegasus turned out to be much more accurate in her actions: at first she looked inside the mug, but its contents merged in color with the color of the inner surface, and only four tea bags were contrasted in this environment. Curling her face, Limonka took these bags out of the mug. Sniffed the mug ... nothing. Has the nose really failed? I turned to my tea, and here it is - the aroma of real tea! Not the best list of qualities of nursing tea, but the pegasus decided to try it: a small sip from a heavy container and ...
- Ugh! Kha-kham! the filly suddenly spat and coughed. - Cold, and even ... Oh, how sweet it is! How many spoons of sugar do you add there?

Two spoons! - Mandarin woman answered with an innocent smile.

What? Tea houses?

Almost! - Tanguy took out a huge spoon from the pocket of her apron, in terms of volume it was akin to half a cook!

So this is a sauce spoon, - said the older pony.

Um, and I thought it was a big teaspoon. Does not matter! How do you like my tea?

Lemonka glanced at the saucer, on which the tea bags were lying on one end, and her cup was moved to the other. The tea left in Tangerina's saucer next to the sachets was forced to recede due to the liquid leaking from them, it was almost transparent, and very much contrasted in color with the dark tea of Lemonka, a clear border is already visible.

Are you calling this tea? Cold, sugary water - no more! Where is the tea?

Well, I've brewed these bags three times already ... the second time they are a little more intense!

Lemon just breathed in surprise, but no words were found.

What is it? Did not like? And I'm fine! - Tangerina was embarrassed at first. Without waiting for her sister's answer, she gulped down the rest of her "tea", sucked the bags that had been lying on the saucer before, and then said: - Well, everything, sleep!

After that, when the earthly monkey galloped into the bedroom, the kitchen became quiet, and only drops of lemon tea flowing from the table, like a clock or a metronome, counted a pensive pause of surprise no less than a lemon pony: it would seem - sisters, but with such diametrically opposite tastes! To each his own? And only for nothing that splashed tea was a little offensive ...

Holiday skepticism

Greetings.
Naturally, everyone knows what a holiday it is today, you don't even need to remind about it. Wherever you look, you can find its manifestations almost everywhere.
I can tell you one thing: I have no words for congratulations, it seems that I can't come up with anything original. And is it really necessary? And without me they will congratulate you more than once, so I will stand aside from all this.
Wishes, all so the same, stereotyped ... And the meaning of them? I don’t see it in simple words. You can wish anything, at least the same success, at least the same "less procrastination", but, as the sister likes to say - "What the hell is it for?" After all, if a person himself is not interested in the same successes, in reducing the proportion of the same sick, but so beloved laziness, then no words will correct anything at all!
So what is this holiday? Simple change of numbers in calendars? Lying about "miracles" for naive children? A reason for oversales from all sorts of merchants? The motive to waste a lot of money on the feast? Or is it a force that unites people? Each person has his own answer to this question, but my position is somehow very skeptical about all this.
But okay, you see a drawing of a festive theme below, but ... maybe we can do without congratulations and wishes? All the same, all this will not affect anything ...

And the heroines of this sketch were two sisters: Astra and Astoria Prize, a couple from two thousand and fifteen, long forgotten by the person who invented them. But then a small "miracle" happened for these characters, and they again received attention.
The scan number of this figure was also interesting: three eights.

***
Hearth Warming Day, anticipated by many ponies, has arrived. As expected, the streets of all Equestrian cities turned out to be decorated with festive paraphernalia: here and there colorful garlands, tinsel-decorated windows and doors, bells, toys ... oh, but you get tired of listing all that variety of these decorative elements.
And in the central squares and alleys of cities, ponies gather, unite around tall, no less heavily decorated Christmas trees, sing songs, lead round dances, play snowballs and a whole lot of festive fun.
So two Phyllidelphian sisters, the unicorn Astra and the earthly monkey Astoria, decided that night not to sit at home, but went out into the street. More precisely, how ... Astra's native pony literally ate a bald head with her proposal to walk around the city at night! And poor Astoria simply had no chance to just go to bed ...
They walk along the central alley of the city, and the closer to the epicenter, the more noticeable the state of the unicorn dressed in the mantle became noticeable: it was as if some miracle was waiting for what was about to happen, eyes were burning, a smile full of its muzzle, and a clearly hurried gait ... Earthmouth can barely keep up with the older sister.
And when the spire of the central Christmas tree appeared from behind the hill, the unicorn, it seems, could hardly restrain herself from galloping, with grace she sifted to the stairs, before that they entered the park. It seems that Astra was already nowhere happier, but now, seeing the tree and the ponies gathered around it, she happily reared up, in one of her hooves it was impossible to understand where the “magic wand” with a star came from. She threw it up, trying to match it with the top of the tree below along the alley. The starry sky was painted with bright, colorful fireworks.
“Finally it happened again! - exclaimed the delighted Astra. - Let's go have fun, celebrate! There are so many ponies gathered! "
Astoria did not share her sister's enthusiasm, her expression on her face without words expressed her lack of understanding, a desire to express her own "Astra, are you serious ?!" and the itching of the skeptical earthy son.
Despite the fact that Astoria is younger than her sister, it always seemed to her that she was much more mature than a unicorn, therefore she never shared literally Astrina's foal's delight from this holiday. After all, this is all an invention for foals and profitable soil for merchants of gifts - thought the earthly monkey.
Maybe there is some truth in her thoughts, but perhaps her skepticism is not so strong, since she is now here, next to her joyful sister? But in any case, there was no escape from the holiday ...

***

I still don’t congratulate you on anything.

20: One Dream for Two

Leisure is a magical and amazing, illusory time when you can devote yourself to whatever you want. It is especially illusory for monarchs, rulers of all Equestria, alicorn sisters, Princess Celestia and Princess of the Moon. But if they still manage to carve out a couple of hours from their busy schedule and do something other than sitting on the throne, issuing decrees, meeting ambassadors and sending meetings, few can imagine what happens at this time behind the closed doors of their personal chambers.

But if you still look there with one eye, you can see how, for example, Princess Luna is sitting at her desk in a comfortable soft chair. Nearby hovers a mug of something hot and fragrant, next to it is a small plate with cookies. The very same alicorn, surrounded by papers, pens and inkpots, is in a state of deep thought. On her face, a dreamily absent expression wanders, and her half-closed eyelids give the impression that she just dozed off.

But this impression is false. Already in the next second, she all perks up, grabs the first sheet she comes across and begins to diligently write something down, sipping hot coffee and snacking on cookies. Even the most cunning spy, if he happened to look into these records, could not understand a single line, not a single symbol. Because these were special lunar runes used to describe dreams. Sometimes the Princess is satisfied with the result, and sometimes she mercilessly crumples the leaf and throws it aside. And only completely satisfied with the result, Luna nods approvingly, rolls it up and puts the finished sheaf in a neat pile. They will still come in handy at night.

The familiar balcony, the familiar cool breeze and the light of the moon, just at the behest of magic peeping out from the horizon. The princess took a deep breath and, as many times before, fell into the darkness of the dream world. Today, besides the usual observation of the dreams of her subjects, she had something special. Burning with impatience, she went to one particular pony, just asleep, judging by the haze of dream that had just begun to emerge around him.

Luna busily waved her hooves, driving away the dream striving to manifest itself. Today she has other plans for this pony. Fetching a sheet of runes from her mane, she reread them several times, trying to remember, and set to work. The princess closed her eyes and concentrated on her feelings. One should start with something simple, say, a breath of a breeze, barely perceptible, soft and slightly warm, bringing the smell of autumn leaves, apples and a little dampness. Indeed, she felt the breeze tickle her fur.

Next, you need to create an image. Without opening her eyes, a small autumn undergrowth formed in front of the moon's mind's eye, trees of an unrecognizable variety, a little shrub, golden fallen leaves here and there. In the clearing, you can see the farm nearby and their apple orchard, from where the enchanting aromas of fruits can be heard. Further afield is a mountain ridge with snow-white tops.

Luna opened her eyes: this image really appeared around her and the pony sleeping next to her. Everything looked almost like real, and it was to some extent real, if you can call anything like that in the world of dreams. With boundless dense darkness instead of the sky overhead, this landscape looked shiveringly uncomfortable and frightening. After checking the notes, the princess continued her sleeping wonders. She narrowed her eyes slightly, as if the bright midday sun was shining in her eyes and, as if by magic, appeared above the horizon.

Now it is the turn of the sleeper himself. One of the guards, no longer young, very tired in the service of the earth-son. Under the gaze of the princess, he turned into a young, stately stallion, which he once was, according to archive photos. In gratitude for the service, for having dedicated her whole life to her work, Luna wanted to do something special for him. Memories of his own home, of a fishing line nearby, of those days when he was young and full of strength. To give him the opportunity to experience all this, even if in a dream.

Having double-checked whether she had forgotten anything, Luna left the zone of visibility in this dream, not forgetting to “wake up” the owner in it before leaving. His misunderstanding, embarrassment, and then delight in the eyes were the best reward for the Princess. How the colt galloped between the trees, as if it was lying in the autumn foliage, like a foolish foal, enjoying youth with might and main, inhaling the aromas of the forest and apples with rapture, laughing wildly with happiness and the seething energy in it.

Luna was also pleased to see him enjoy her creation. This is the most enjoyable part of the whole process. The pony's sincere feelings are exactly what motivated her to continue doing this, day after day spending those crumbs of free time that she had on thinking about ideas, searching for materials, forming a whole picture and sometimes even a plot for a dream. Not to mention the writing of mental images in runes and a very thin line between sleep and nightmare.

It was the lack of understanding of all the subtleties of this facet that once played a cruel joke with it. And not only with her. A sweet and friendly quiet maid, who constantly cleaned up the royal bedchamber, who seemed to Luna as an ideal target for another sleep as gratitude, also fell under the blow of fate. The princess spent several days choosing and experiencing different looks and sensations to create the perfect gift. It was a delightful summer meadow with scented cornflowers, buttercups and dandelions. It extended as far as the eye could see, infinitely green and fragrant.

Luna woke the filly and waited for a reaction. That's just what happened next surpassed all her assumptions. Standing up, the maid blinked sleepily, rubbing her eyes with her hooves, and then looked around. Her gaze was filled with horror, her legs gave way and she squeaked and howled with fear buried her nose in the ground, covering her head with hooves. On top of everything else, red spots began to appear on her fur, and the filly herself began to sneeze furiously, so that she was thrown all over the meadow. It was truly a terrifying, downright nightmare sight. The princess hastened to dispel the dream and plunged the pony into deep oblivion without any visions.

After that incident, she was terribly worried and abandoned all attempts to create dreams. Until Celestia found her sad and depressed drinking the third mug of tea in a row sitting alone at night right in the castle kitchen.

How could I know that she had agoraphobia ?! - Luna lamented, complaining to her sister. - She never left the castle! And these damn flowers! A thousand years ago, there were no allergies!

You had good intentions, sister, ”Celestia stroked her back comfortingly. - Failures happen and what has been done cannot be changed. But this does not mean that you should stop your studies. Sleep-making is truly an amazing art and I deeply admire your achievements in this field.

What's the use of that? - Luna brushed aside, gulping down her mug of tea and wincing at the disgusting bitterness accumulated at the bottom. “I'm just creating more nightmares and injuring more innocent ponies. At this rate, my dreams can be used as a criminals for particularly vicious criminals.

Quite an option ... - Celestia drawled thoughtfully, playfully pretending that she was really interested in it. She had to catch with magic an empty cup thrown into her no less playfully. Having sent this impromptu shell to the sink to do the washing on her own, the Princess suggested: - What if you have someone to check these very dreams. A trusted editor who can save you from mistakes. Someone close, perhaps even dear, with whom you can share even the most intimate dreams.

Sounds great! - Luna perked up her spirits, but then she immediately drooped again. - If only someone like that was there.

Celestia regretted sending the mug to wash and cannot throw it back. However, from the fully revitalized Moon, it was clear that she liked the idea. After discussing the details and features, they hit the hooves pretty well. So the alicorn sisters acquired their own little common hobby, which united them even more. Luna was busy composing dreams, and Celestia threw up ideas, suggestions about what and how can be improved, what should not be done, and sometimes she completely discarded whole ideas. Thus, a fair number of ponies were saved from nightmares, and the quality of dreams of many of the lucky ones increased significantly. Dreams took on characters, plots, and even formed into whole stories. The princesses could hardly restrain their smiles, involuntarily eavesdropping on how the guards retell each other their amazing dreams.

But one day, when Celestia came to the door of her sister's private quarters, ready to work on another idea, the moon did not let her in.

Sorry, - she muttered, blushing slightly and lowering her gaze, - today I will work without you.

A little discouraged and even a little offended, the Princess was forced to go home, to her bedchamber. There she lay for a couple of hours on the bed, unable to sleep, painfully wondering what caused such a strange behavior of the moon. The most delusional thoughts crept into my head, from a secret conspiracy to a secret lover. Eventually fatigue took its toll and Celestia fell asleep.

Her sister, on the other hand, did not cool down at this time, but worked hard on another dream. It was very special and therefore she approached him with special care. The key point and the main difficulty was the complete absence of any reference points. You could only rely on your memory. So the moon spent the whole evening and part of the night deeply immersed in her own memories, good and bad, interrupting it in search of scraps and scraps of various thoughts and ideas, piece by piece restoring the whole picture in its original form. The rune sheet was long lacking, so they had to switch to rare extra-sized parchment manuscripts, Twilight shared the contacts of her suppliers.

By the time Luna finished, it was deep after midnight. Feeling that there was absolutely no time left, she almost without preparation dived into the world of dreams, as she was, right from the chair. Noting to herself that one should not forget him here, the princess hastened to her today's goal. She just fell asleep, blinking in the infinity of darkness with a new, unusually bright dawn. In the next moment, Luna was already there, smiling involuntarily at the sight of her sleeping sister. Too funny her mouth opened, forcing all the feigned greatness of the princess to evaporate. In its own way, it was very nice.

But there was no time to admire, a little more and a natural dream will begin to form and you will have to spend time on its elimination. Luna unrolled the parchment, a rustling waterfall unfolding towards her hooves. Rune after rune, she revived scraps of memories in her memory, as if weaving the canvas of a dream with a silk thread, collecting it from various scraps. Gradually, a room appeared, the most ordinary, but so dear and sweet to the eye. In it, like outlandish flowers, furniture blossomed: a large bed, a simple chest of drawers, a small floor lamp, a wardrobe with toys, a chair with various everyday clothes. A scattering of trinkets appeared on the floor: all kinds of buttons and figures, a couple of dice and a ball.

Celestia herself was undergoing changes. Decreasing in size, she gradually turned into a completely foal, a cute snow-white filly, touchingly snoring on a bed huge in comparison with her. Her nose quivered slightly as she smelled the aroma of cocoa that appeared on the dresser in two large cups. Nearby was a saucer with fresh cookies, only from the oven.

With the final touch, before waking her sister, Luna made herself look like her. She almost forgot what it was like to look at the world through the eyes of a foal, when everything around seemed amazing and terribly interesting. Her fur looked much lighter than usual, and her whole body was filled with unprecedented lightness and freedom. Climbing with difficulty on a rather high bed, she crawled over to the sleeping Celestia and butted her nose on the forehead.

Hey wake up! she demanded, noting with satisfaction that her voice sounded right. - Get up, come on!

Mmm ... What? - little Celestia stretched sleepily, yawning sweetly. She did not immediately realize the situation, so she blinked in surprise with her huge foal eyes, remembering this situation, this bed, these toys. Warmth and tenderness of memories overwhelmed the princess, almost making her cry from such a touching gift. Until she was shamelessly distracted.

You promised to read with me! - Luna capriciously stamped her foot, nodding towards the book of fairy tales lying next to her. Lowering her nose, as if about to cry, she complained in a broken voice: - I even brought cocoa and cookies.

Well, in that case, I will gladly read with you, - Celestia smiled softly, noticing with pleasure how her sister beamed. Within a minute, they nestled comfortably under the blanket, huddled together. They each had a mug of cocoa in their hooves, a plate of cookies next to them, and an open book in front of them. The reading of fairy tales dragged on for the whole night, but this did not bother them at all.

They had an eternity ahead of them.

A good friend Stink also drew an illustration for the story. Thank you very much!

19: Hoof Relief

Morning. A magnificent and brilliant period of the day, when the sun just peeks out just a little over the horizon, hinting to all Equestria ponies that it is time to wake up and start a new wonderful day. Mares and colts lazily get out from under their blankets, rubbing their eyes, stretch and yawn, enjoying the warmth of the sun on their fur, getting a boost of vivacity and good mood for the whole day. Fantastic.

Raven Inquell was no exception. The only thing that distinguished her awakening from the rest of the ponies was the need to put glasses on her nose in order to see the sun, and not a large bright blurry spot. She always puts these glasses on the chest of drawers before going to bed, exactly fifteen centimeters from the edge, with the glasses away from herself - ideally at the distance of an outstretched hoof so that she can grab it without looking. Yet the years of paperwork have had their detrimental effect. As much as this earthly one would not want to admire the sun further, but it was necessary to get ready for work.

That Friday morning was not much different for Raeven. Shower to make the snow-white fur look impeccable; a light, hearty breakfast with oats for energy for the whole day; ten minutes in front of the mirror, tidying up the mane. The tuft of black hair on the back of the head was as perfectly styled as the similar configuration on the tail. The starched collar took its place on the neck, tied with a scarlet tie. After making sure she looked perfect, the filly finally went to work.

Raven always arrived at the town hall half an hour before the official start of the working day. This gave her the opportunity to fully and thoroughly prepare: lay out and sort the papers, sharpen each pencil and pen to perfect sharpness, brush away specks of dust from every shelf in her department and, of course, prepare a to-do list for the day for herself and her boss, Miss Mayor. Meetings, weddings, meetings, public speeches, awards, budget decisions and more. If Raven had a need to compile a complete list of the activities she performed, he would need an entirely separate shelf in the Canterlot library. And that's just for the table of contents.

Miss Mayor was not long in coming and showed up for work on time, as befits an adult and respected filly in society. But few other than Raven knew about what she really was. Even now, the secretary noticed a cunning sparkle in the eyes of an elderly earthly son and shuddered internally with a bad feeling.

Good morning, Miss Mayor, Inquell greeted her habitually.

The most kind, Raven, - the Mayor answered her in a somewhat overly elated mood.

Here is your list of meetings for today. ”The secretary held out a neat piece of paper with calligraphic handwritten lines printed out. - I would like to note that in addition to the usual evening, Princess Celestia's visit awaits you.

Darling, tell me, do you know what day it is? - Suddenly leaning close to the filly, asked the Mayor quietly.

Friday, ma'am, the twenty-ninth of the month. ”Raven recoiled from surprise, but retained her composure and, adjusting her glasses, again became a model of perfection.

Exactly! - said the Mayor in a singsong voice, accompanying it with a couple of simple dance steps. “Which means tomorrow is the weekend. What's my plan for the weekend, Raven?

I ... wait a second, ma'am ... - the filly began to frantically recheck her papers in search of the necessary information. She had to make an effort not to create a mess while carefully returning each sheet to its place. Until the Mayor, who jumped onto the table with hooves, interrupted her search.

L-a-a-a-pegasu-s-s! - her enthusiasm was overflowing, while Inquell diligently tried to gently release the papers crushed by her hooves, hoping that they would not get dirty or wrinkled. - Harsha and I have booked a room in the best hotel and are going to have a full blast! Well, you remember Harshi, she came to us for ... how was he?

Selection of applicants for the ceremony of carrying the flag in the Crystal Empire, Raven rapped out without hesitation. - Miss Harshweini has shown outstanding professionalism in her work.

That's it, - the Mayor nodded in agreement, carefully getting down from the table. Descent down was given to her a little more difficult. - It turns out she also knows how to come off professionally. So cancel all my appointments, I have a train in half an hour.

Ma'am, what about meeting with Princess Celestia? Raven tilted her head, puzzled, hoping to hear the answer.

Think of something, - the Mayor carelessly waved away, heading for the exit. - There my presence is necessary exclusively formally. To accompany the Princess, to smile at her, can say a couple of compliments, nothing complicated. You will figure it out. With my other paperwork, you somehow cope.

Adios! - no longer a young filly made her hoof and jumped out the door, leaving her secretary all alone. If Raven had told this to someone in Ponyville, no one would have believed her. Well, maybe her twin sister from Canterlot. She also tells not such things about her boss Celestia. It’s a pity that she doesn’t get out on a visit this time.

The secretary sat down in her place and began methodically shifting and sorting papers, contemplating her plan of action. No, she could not replace the Mayor at this meeting, under any circumstances. The princess will immediately understand that the matter here is unclean and that everyone will be in big trouble. Finished with the Papers, Raven nervously began sharpening her pencils. Those that were already sharpened, she sharpened on both sides. “To reschedule the meeting citing illness? An epidemic? Attack on the Parasprite City? "

The filly shook her head. All of this is no good. Before thinking about anything, she found out that the pencils were out. Literally. Lost in thought, she grinded off each one until it disappeared completely. And this is a mess. There should be order in her office. There must be order. In the office and in business. Raven's eye started twitching as a couple of strands came out of the perfectly tied bun of hair on her head. The filly began to literally shake from the feeling that enveloped her. Helpless rage, anger and almost animal hatred stirred within her. First, this stupid meeting, and now the pencils. She didn’t expect them in any way.

Startled, Raven came to her senses before she snapped. Problems must be approached one at a time. And now pencils were paramount. There should be order in her office. Certainly. So the filly got up from her desk, straightened her mane in front of the mirror, and headed in the only possible direction: the Sofas and Feathers shop.

As surprising as this combination of goods was, this establishment flourished. In a small town, there is always a demand for both, whether it is associated with a nearby friendship school or a boutique of a famous and overly dramatic couturier. The shopkeeper even gives discounts to regular customers, including Raven. So once inside, she hastily walked through the rows, here and there adjusting the uneven or inconsistent goods on the shelves. Having reached the pencils, the filly carefully selected exactly a dozen, checking each of its numbers in the batch: it must have been even.

A small queue has gathered at the checkout. It looks like someone in a fancy wide-brimmed hat was unhappy with the wholesale supply of sofas and was actively sorting out the relationship with the store owner. Raven had already prepared herself for a long and boring wait, during which she can continue to count prime numbers for her pleasure, but then a familiar mark flashed in the tail of the line. The filly, without thinking twice, went straight to her.

Hi Twilight, ”she greeted politely, drawing attention to herself with a soft cough.

A? Oh ... ahem ... Hello? - somehow uncertainly and fidgety answered the Princess of Friendship, hunted looking around.

Everything is fine? - Raven asked worriedly, looking into the eyes of her interlocutor. She knew her well and this behavior was not so much uncommon for her as a little out of place in this situation.

What? Oh yes, in full! Twilight waved her off with mock enthusiasm, nearly knocking over a nearby feather rack. - Why do you ask, Inquell?

“Inquell? Twilight never calls me that, ”the secretary thought, gazing intently at the princess wriggling under her gaze, noticing the beads of sweat on her forehead. “She behaves strangely, speaks strangely, her manner of speaking and addressing is different from the usual. If I was obsessed with conspiracy theories, one would assume that this is a fake. "

You will not believe what idea I just came up with, - smiled Raven, coming closer to the alicorn, leaning to her very ear. - You behave so strangely today, as if you were replaced.

Shh! Twilight hissed at her, blinking her turquoise faceted eyes for a moment instead of the usual purple ones. - Please, not here and not now!

Having thrown a couple of coins on the counter to pay for her purchases, the “princess” hurried away, bypassing the line. Raven, throwing off her daze, repeated the maneuver and rushed in pursuit. However, it did not take long to run. Twilight was outside waiting for her, nervously picking at the ground with her hoof.

I am not what, but who. My name is Ocellos, ”Falsewilight admitted, transforming into a skinny changeling in a flash of light.

And why were you pretending to be Twilight? - the secretary pressed, noticing how the creature in front of her was looking at her with apprehension.

Loyal customer discount, ”Ocellos admitted grimly, barely audible, bowing her head apologetically. There was a moment of silence.

HM. I see, - with a stone face, Raven nodded calmly, inwardly rolling with laughter. For the discount, take on Twilight's appearance, and she only bought pens and ink and scrolls. It's just great. The filly's mood has definitely improved. She also had an idea. “After all, you should have studied Twilight's manners a little better. And keep calm. For example, for this I count prime numbers in my mind. This helps to maintain composure in all conditions.

I'll try, ”Ocellos nodded in confusion, still looking extremely guilty. “Please don’t tell Director Twilight about this! She promised to strip me of my library privileges if this happens again.

Only if you help me with one little business, - Raven allowed herself to smile a little.

What do you want from me? - With some apprehension asked the changeling, just in case, pretending to be offended innocence.

Just to portray Miss Mayor at today's meeting with Princess Celestia, - as a matter of course, the secretary explained. As if she had learned it, she repeated word for word, observing the intonation of the Mayor: “Your presence there is necessary only formally. To accompany the Princess, to smile at her, can say a couple of compliments, nothing complicated.

But ... I ... the princess herself ?! - Ocellos in panic began to breathe deeply and shake, her eyes ran, and the words were confused.

Prime numbers, - Raven reminded her, almost touching, recognizing herself in the changeling.

Yes ... thanks, - she got down to business and after a couple of seconds her gaze became much more focused, if this can be said about the strange faceted turquoise eyes. Collecting her thoughts, she clarified: - How much time do I have?

Enough, - Raven nodded contentedly. - Follow me. Let's take your preparation.

The couple spent the next few hours constructing the perfect image of Miss Mayor. The pathological meticulousness and perfectionism of Inkwell was perfectly combined with intelligence and a tendency to grasp everything on the fly in Ocellos. Gait, behavior, habitual speech turns and addresses, manners of movement, speaking, even the peculiarities of thinking were taken into account. The Confederates did an excellent job with a few simple meetings scheduled for the day. Chayndzhling coped with a bang, so that even Raven herself sometimes forgot that the real Mayor drove off to conquer Las Pegasus in the company of a friend.

The “X” hour has come and in front of the town hall a cart pulled down by snow-white, absolutely identical pegasus in golden harness descended from the heavens. Princess Celestia herself stepped onto the land of Ponyville, by her very presence illuminating the square, the fountain and the nearby park with a kind of special, invisible, but quite tangible light. Surely even Zecora, in the middle of the Ever-Free Forest, felt the presence of the royal alicorn.

The Mayor and Princess exchanged greetings and courtesies on duty, and then proceeded further according to the plan. Raven followed them relentlessly, a silent shadow appearing behind Ocellos at the moments when she was lost or needed support. The tour of the city was accompanied by an unpretentious, non-binding conversation, with which the Mayor coped well, with the exception of a couple of tricky, half-joking questions about parasprites and twittermets, and one incident with a couple walking by in an embrace, to which the whole company paid unexpectedly close attention.

Back at the town hall, Celestia proceeded to the Mayor's office and, as soon as Ocellos entered, closed the door, leaving Raven outside. Winking at her and throwing something like “a matter of state importance, she locked herself in and there was an ominous silence. The secretary sat down in her place in the waiting room and put her hooves on her head. "Really we were revealed ?!" - she lamented, frantically looking for pencils and finding a recently acquired set, began to sharpen them diligently, muttering prime numbers under her breath.

Ocellos, on the other hand, was sitting at the Mayor's table and with growing concern looked at Celestia seated opposite her. She, with a slight half-smile, looked at her expectantly.

You are too worried, my little ... huh ... "pony", - unexpectedly, in a completely unusual manner for her, the Princess hissed amiably. - S-too tense, s-too shaking.

W-excuse me? - Ocellos swallowed, furtively wiping sweat from her forehead, once again bewildered in her calculations. - I do not…

You shouldn't be afraid of me, ”Celestia winked at her with a large lavender faceted eye. However, he immediately began to look normal again, as well as the usual manner of speaking returned. “Often, even the Princess has more urgent“ business ”to do. This is how you can be in time everywhere and everywhere.

I… ”Ocellos slowly realized the significance of the revelation she had just received, stopping shaking and fearing and even feeling somewhat at home. - Wow.

That's better. ”Celestia smiled softly at her. “You seem to have no experience at all. So embarrassed by the questions about "bugs", so staring at a couple in love. You need to work on self-control.

Ocellos wanted to object to something, but, after thinking for a moment, instead nodded in agreement and even used the Mayor's gilded writing utensils to write down these practical advice. Celestia gave her a few more recommendations and exercises specifically for such cases.

And now it's time for us to say goodbye, "Mayor", - the Princess finally rose to her feet. - Let's not keep your assistant waiting.

The farewell was crumpled and a little awkward. Raven, worried in earnest, grinded off all the pencils and pens and moved to the legs of the chairs. Celestia ordered a comforting gratitude for the hospitality and hastily departed in a chariot carried by snow-white pegasus in the direction of Canterlot.

The Mayor and Raven watched her and returned to the town hall. There, an obscene size cake awaited them, appetizingly alluring with glazed sides and cream hats. Taking a piece, the filly began to eat.

Ocellos, what were you talking about in your office? Raven was the first to break the silence.

Oh ... well ... you know ... - the changeling hesitated for a moment, but, remembering Celestia's advice, she grinned slyly. - State secret!

Whatever you say, ”the secretary dismissed her exhaustedly. Today was not an easy day for her, and a nervous shock made itself felt. - I wonder what the Mayor is doing there?

Ah, this is simply divine! - Moaning with pleasure, Miss Harshweini basked under the massage her hooves. Sitting on a special couch, she lay on her stomach, looking into the floor of her eye the magazine lying in front of her. - The best spa in Las Pegasus!

A truly magnificent place! - Mayor echoed her from the next couch, rolling her eyes with bliss, while the muscular pony carefully traversed his hooves all over her body. - Spa worthy of royal persons!

I totally agree with you! - came a familiar voice from the third couch, where a group of masseurs was working diligently at once. Because of their wide backs, there was no way to see who their client was. Only a pink and lime magical amorphous mane made its way out, betraying the identity of their neighbor.

18: Axial rotation

There is nothing more deceiving than the calmness and leisurely life of small towns like Apploza. Ponies, in pairs, decorously walking along the half-empty streets, foals quietly drawing all sorts of nonsense with a twig in the sand, the sheriff, swaying regularly in his chair, chewing on a blade of grass - all this is just a facade of everyday life, behind which one simple and irrefutable fact is hidden: there is always something something is going on. And if it suddenly seemed to you that everything is quiet and calm, this is a reason to sound the alarm.

So when screams of horror were heard from the square in front of the town hall, the ponies in panic began to rush through the streets, and the fillys cautiously fainted right into the prudently embraced arms of their gentlemen, the Sheriff exhaled with satisfaction. With a grunt, rubbing his incessantly aching back, he climbed out of his chair and hurried to the square with all his usual speed of a leisurely pony. Foals playing here and there, from an early age taught by bitter experience not to climb ahead of their elders, barely restraining curiosity rushing out, followed the middle-aged pony. So the sheriff came to the square, surrounded by a retinue of kids staring in all directions.

Why are we making noise? What is it this time? - in a raspy voice he asked the crowd gathered in front of the town hall.

My cake, my wonderful cake! - one of the fillies with touching pigtails making their way from under the cap, holding a baking sheet with a heap of coals in her hooves, was beating in hysterics.

My watering routine! - exclaimed another pony with growing clumps of uneven beard, peering out from behind a massive flowerpot with an exotic plant sadly drooping a withered bud.

My business meeting! - cried sobbingly the third pony in glasses that slid down and hung on one arm, clutching with an iron grip the sadly lowered head of a unicorn in a strict suit.

Foals! Why no one thinks about foals! - some filly with a mad look snatched one easier from the crowd of children and began waving them like a flag.

Oh, holy Celestia, with a gold digger on your foreheads, someone will explain to me clearly what is happening ?! - Angrily spat a blade of grass Sheriff, glaring at the crowd from under his brows.

Time stopped! - pointed to the town hall a stately stallion with a straw mane.

Indeed, the hands of the huge clock of the town hall froze motionless at fifteen to ten, although the time for dinner had long passed. And everything in the city went up and down. This is what happens when everyone gets used to relying on one large and convenient time indicator, visible from almost all parts of the city. It’s even surprising that this didn’t happen before.

What will we do? the Sheriff asked himself, scratching the bald patches under his hat. - We'll have to call a technician or a mechanic from Canterlot.

Well, well, - came a low voice from the crowd. The ponies parted, revealing a seemingly ordinary filly in a pretty dress and a hat pulled down over her eyes with brims, which are so fond of rare guests of Epploose. Throwing off the headdress and emerging from the dress in two seances, the earthly monkey remained only in a blue denim overalls with embroidery in the shape of an oil can on the side. Opening her small ladies' saddle bag, as if by magic, she pulled out an impressive belt with all kinds of tools and fastened it to herself. The last cap with the mechanics' trade mark was born, which immediately found its place on the head, framed by a dark red mane. Having wiped her nose, immediately leaving a dark, dirty spot on the green fur, the filly got into a pretentious stance and said: - It looks like you are missing a drop of oil!

Silenced for a second, the crowd exploded in hooves, rejoicing and honoring the unexpected savior. A dense ring of onlookers formed around her, so the Sheriff needed to use force to get to the filly.

The kindest day, Miss ... - the stallion paused, giving the opportunity to introduce himself.

Drop, Oil Drop, - the pony mechanic was not long in coming, throwing a naughty lock of mane out of his eyes. Which did not prevent him from returning to his place immediately. - I'm here on vacation, passing through. Get some air, take a walk, dress up ...

Apparently, - the Sheriff nodded, pensively watching as the elegant dress and hat dissolve in the crowd. “Well, Miss Oil, we are very glad that you are here. If it doesn't bother you, follow me.

It didn't take long to get to the town hall. It's only a couple of steps to go here. There are a couple of steps everywhere and everywhere, such is the peculiarity of small towns, including Applooza. The ponies parted respectfully, giving way, making the simple mechanic filly feel like a real star. She diligently kept a serious and professional expression on her face, but in her heart she rejoiced: “This is my finest hour!”

Well, then so, - the Sheriff stopped in front of the massive doors. - The clock is in the attic of the town hall, the door there is not locked. We don't go there ourselves, so the buffalo knows what's going on there.

Won't you come with me? Oily tilted her head, puzzled.

No way, I can’t, no way, ”the stallion immediately recoiled with surprising agility for him. Recovering himself, he was embarrassed, coughed and explained: - Well, you see, we don't go there ourselves, because there ... A very flimsy staircase, yes! It's just dangerous for me with my weight. But you, slender and weightless, beautiful young filly - is a completely different matter!

Oili felt that the case smelled like kerosene and this time it wasn't even from her. But dozens of pairs of enthusiastic eyes looked at her, all the ponies here counted on her help, and she simply could not turn around and leave now, leaving them to their fate. Not after such a glorious appearance.

Chewed rags, - scornfully grimacing, she hissed barely audibly to the Sheriff and, with a heavy sigh, entered the town hall. The door creaked shut behind her, cutting off the escape route.

Oili was left alone. The room greeted her with an oppressive atmosphere, as if it were not a place for a general city meeting, but a crypt. Only the tumbled down benches and the music stand standing on the dais spoke of the purpose of the premises. And then he was probably just nailed to the floor, and therefore did not fall. Dust flying in the air, clearly visible in the sun's rays breaking through loosely knit boards, called for a general cleaning.

The filly presented herself with a broom, fighting off dusty ghosts and grinned. Not so bad. For once, you can work calmly, without some curious pug observing from the back, which cannot resist a couple of “useful” advice. That itchy sensation in the back of her head when someone is looking at you drove Oili crazy. Just like it is now.

The mechanic pony shuddered. No, she definitely didn’t think she was being watched. It felt as clear as the weight of her tool belt. She literally felt every screwdriver, every wrench, every oiler down to the level of oil filling and its quality. And in the same way she felt someone's eyes on her. This sensation had already become commonplace and familiar, just like her instruments, so that Oili could tell with certainty where she was being watched from. Glancing up imperceptibly from under the fields of her cap, she saw a figure in shadow on the ceiling beams. However, she immediately disappeared, only the boards creaked barely audibly.

Alert, Oili slowly walked forward. The wooden steps of the staircase creaked disgustingly and lingeringly under the hooves of the filly. For a moment it even seemed to her that the Sheriff's words were not just an excuse. The observer did not lag behind, remaining in the shadows, constantly nearby, at a distance of one jump, exuding a quite tangible threat. Step by step, higher and higher, getting closer to the goal. A kind of staring game, who will lose their nerves faster. It was the most intense climb in the life of a mechanic.

The end of the stairs was near, and with it the attic. As soon as the filly crosses the invisible threshold, the battle will be over. Something will happen and not the fact that she will like it. We urgently need to do something, but what? Think, head, think! Oili hurriedly went through options, each more absurd than the other, until it was too late. Without noticing it, she was already in the attic and felt something approaching her. Not thinking of anything better, she turned sharply on the spot and barked towards the observer:

Spiral recuperator into the rear valve confuser! the filly's voice rumbled. Echo lifted her words to the high vaulted dome-ceiling, from where something was rushing down with an ever-increasing screech. Oiley only had time to spot a pony-like figure with wings before she was knocked down on her back and thrown to the floor. Grunting and moaning, the filly tried to rise, but someone crushed her with their weight. Opening her eyes, the first thing she saw was the sharp fangs in the toothy mouth right in front of her nose. They were complemented by a pair of predator's eyes, slightly glowing in the twilight, with vertical pupils. Well, the rest of the pony's body was included.

Pri ... - the pony began, but she was interrupted by Oily's heart-rending squeal, which she accompanied with a strong jolt with all her hooves. The ponies scattered screaming in different directions, some from horror, some from pain.

Eh-hey !!! - the owner of the teeth cried resentfully, raising her legs with a flap of her wings. - Why are you fighting ?!

Why are you attacking me ?! - the pony mechanic did not remain in debt. She already had her favorite oilers in her hooves and was ready to use them. She knew like no one that they could be used not only for their intended purpose, but also for self-defense. - Don't come near me, monster! And then how I will pissed off!

You yourself are a monster! - offended, an unfamiliar filly darted at her, sitting down on the floor at the opposite wall of the attic and hugging the pillow lying next to her. - I just fell from the beam on you in surprise, that's all. I've never heard anyone swear like that. And what is the rear valve horse-fuser?

You will know when I inject oil there, you beast! - Oily snapped roughly, but nevertheless lowered the oil can. It didn't look like they were going to eat it right here and now. - What are you?

I'm not what, but who! - the stranger grunted gloomily, lifting her nose. Looking at it more closely, in addition to the alabaster fur and bright straw mane, it stood out with its impressive size leathery, like a bat's wings. Her teeth no longer seemed so big, even a pair of sharp fangs were almost invisible. It is clear who the locals are so afraid of. How long has she lived here? And what does he eat? Not local, are they?

You… ”Oili suddenly remembered seeing something similar while fixing something classified in the Canterlot barracks. - I've already met people like you! But where are you from here?

Oh, do you know about us? Have you seen the cave system in the mountain range west of here? - the winged pony perked up, putting aside its pillow. Her ears are erect, showing little fluffy tassels at the tips. - So I'm definitely not from there. Now at least. Kicked out for being too ... well ... bright. So I took my belongings, a pillow, a blanket and got used to it while here in the attic. The locals came to visit me a couple of times, but for some reason they ran away screaming and screaming, and I was smiling so diligently! Hs-s-s! It’s boring here alone, but I didn’t kick out, I stuck my head once, so they threw a pie at me! It’s a little offensive, but delicious. And there is no need to hunt!

Bright, so yeah. Huntress! Call you what, beast? - already benignly asked the mechanic, hiding the oil can back.

The horse opened its mouth and emitted a series of high-frequency squeaks, interspersed with clicks and wheezes. Noticing the bewilderment on Oili's face, she looked down in embarrassment.

But you can call me Poisy, she admitted.

Oil Drop, almost nice. Yes, your parents joked about you, ”she introduced herself and nodded her head sympathetically. Sensing that something was missing, she began to look around in search of her cap.

Here you go! - Poisy lifted the headdress lying near her with a wing and held it out to her new acquaintance. - And yet, what is a fusor horse? And I didn’t see any back valve.

Well, I got a little excited - now it's Oili's turn to be embarrassed. “It’s her own fault, there’s nothing to secretly watch over honest ponies.

I just watched, suddenly you came to fix the watch, - the winged filly bowed its head apologetically. - I didn't think to scare you!

Exactly, hours! - remembered the pony mechanic, finally drawing attention to the huge gear mechanism that occupies most of the attic. Massive cogwheels intertwined with a complex structure, exuding a tart metallic smell of iron and grease, so familiar and pleasant to the filly. - And we didn’t notice the elephant.

It's a watch, silly thing! Poisy smiled. “He’s not an elephant at all.

I ... Ah-rr! I see that this is a watch, "silly", - Oili waved her hoof at the fanged beast and began to examine the mechanism. Despite the dust and lack of maintenance, it was in fair condition. An enthusiastic puffing was heard from behind. Apparently, this time too, she cannot avoid work under the gaze. - It remains to understand why they do not work. In appearance, everything is whole.

You know, I, of course, am not a master at mending anything, ”the filly held out behind her, barely audible rustling of leathery wings. - But it seems to me that this is the problem.

She pointed deeper into the gears. Looking closer, Oili saw a large piece of cloth wrapped around the gear and its shaft. An unpretentious floral pattern could be seen on the patch sticking out.

Perhaps it was once my blanket, until last night the treacherous gear took it away from me, ”Poisy reluctantly admitted, squinting at the harmful unit with displeasure. - No wonder the clock is broken. Will know how to quarrel with me!

Oh yeah, you're just a thunderstorm of all mechanisms, - Oili grinned, wondering which side to start cutting. “Since you’re here, couldn’t you turn this gear back a little so that I can—”

No problem! - the mechanic did not have time to finish, as Poisy was already pushing the indicated toothed disk with might and main, so successfully that the fabric itself began to unwind. In a matter of seconds, the gear was freed from the blanket captivity. Or, if the winged misfortune is to be believed, the blanket was freed from the prongs of an insidious mechanism. Everything smeared with grease, but safe and sound.

Hooray? Poisy asked uncertainly, looking at Oili with a question. She was just adding lubricant to the missing elements, making up for what the blanket had taken upon itself. After a couple of moments, the mechanism came to life and the gears resumed their motion.

Now hurray, - the pony mechanic crossed her hooves contentedly on her chest. - It remains only to set the time and you can hand over the work.

Moving the arrows together turned out to be much easier, and taking into account a pair of wings, it was generally like a foal's game. Judging by the cheers of the ponies in the square, their success did not go unnoticed. It was time to get out of this dust collector, which for some reason is mistaken for the town hall, even the clock was set.

Well, be there, - Oyli waved goodbye and went downstairs. With every step she took, a strange and contradictory feeling grew in her. With every step she took, she wanted to come back and do something for this strange casual acquaintance. But the pony mechanic shook her head stubbornly, chasing away her obsessive thoughts. The cap, the one Poisy had given her, fell at her feet. Turning around, Oili saw in the half-light of the attic the silhouette of a filly with slightly shining yellow eyes, a slightly toothy smile and a not a little curled blanket at her hooves.

Ah-r-r! What can I do with you? - she rolled her eyes, already internally regretting that she took up this work, that she decided to climb into the attic, that she did not rush right away. - I will regret it, oh, how I will regret it. Poise?

Yes? the filly waved her eyelashes innocently.

If you like, we can take a walk around Appluse. I'm sure the locals will be happy to meet the one who helped fix their watch, ”Oili suggested, inwardly praying to the alicorn sisters not to be bombarded with pies for company. “Besides, since you’ve settled in the attic next to the clock anyway, I can give you a couple of lessons on how to take care of its mechanism. Considering that the city does not have its own mechanic, you will be a real salvation for them!

Truth? - Poisy's eyes flared up with joy more than ever. From an excess of feelings, she began to dance in place, gracefully twitching her wings and amusingly accompanying herself with melodious squeaks and clicks. - Urya-urya-urya!

Hush hush! Oily waved at her. - Take it easy! Until the locals get used to you try to behave ... as usual. No "hs-s-s!" and squeaks! Can you handle it?

I will try, - seriously thinking for a couple of seconds, Poisy nodded uncertainly. She stared expectantly at her newfound friend.

Eh, what am I to do with you? - repeated the pony-mechanic, gradually getting used to the idea that this hymenoptera misunderstanding will not leave her behind now. Taking a deep breath and collecting her thoughts, she held out a hoof to her protégé. - Come on, beast.

17: Night visit

The cool night air gently cooled the fur of Princess Luna, who sat on the balcony of her bedchamber at Canterlot Castle. The pale night luminary under the influence of magic slowly climbed into the firmament to take its place among the stars. Striking it off her imaginary to-do list, the alicorn sighed deeply and sadly, overwhelmed with mixed feelings. It hasn't been long since Nightmare Moon freed herself from her captivity on the moon and was defeated by Twilight and her friends. After reconciling with her sister, Luna was happy to return to her former duties. And if earlier Celestia coped with control over both celestial bodies, then only the owner of the moon mark can stand guard over the dream world.

You've done this many times, Luna, the alicorn admonished herself, gathering her thoughts. The sounds of the night calmed her a little: a barely audible howl of the wind, rustling of leaves and crackling of branches, hooting of an owl, cries of bats and other nocturnal inhabitants. For a moment it seemed to the moon that even someone was watching her from the darkness. But she shook her head, chasing away the obsessive thoughts and tried to concentrate again. - Deep breath and like a jump into the water ...

Of course, there was no water and no jump. Instead, the princess plunged all the space around her into a special unconscious darkness, on the other side of which are dreams. An instant before her personal bubble of mist closed, Luna felt the vibrations of the air rather than heard the flapping of wings, and before she could realize what had happened, the spell had an effect, transporting her into a dream world. Together with an unexpected companion.

It turned out to be a ruffled young owl that was sitting and businesslike looking around, rotating his head in all conceivable and inconceivable directions. And there was something to look at: dreams-stars shone with an infinite number of colors around, each - a gateway to someone's dream. Seeing something that interested him, the bird of prey rose heavily into the air and flew somewhere forward, before the moon, stunned by what was happening, could do something.

But how? she asked herself. She was struck not even by the fact that someone drove into the world of dreams as a hare, that is, an owl, but more by the speed with which this feathered arrogance got used to a new place. Here even the princess herself was far from immediately able to walk, let alone fly. This place was too different from the usual: fickle and unstable, woven from scraps of dreams and nightmares, for moving between which not the body, but the mind is used. But, apparently, no one warned this owl about this.

We urgently need to catch him before he does trouble. ”Luna resolutely stamped her foot, throwing away all sorts of“ why ”and“ how ”. The safety of the subjects' dreams came first. Well, I'm a little scared for this bird of prey. Who knows what kind of nightmare it will bring. Leaping from her place, the princess rushed after.

It was not difficult to follow the owl. In this world, he left a trail behind him, as if the air crumpled by his wings, like folds on a tablecloth. The path led to one of the dreams, apparently it was there that the fugitive hid. Diving after, Luna found herself in the middle of an ordinary, somewhat gloomy bedroom: a chest of drawers, a bed and a floor lamp. Some unfortunate filly was trembling with horror, hiding under the blanket, while the floor ... The floor swayed, as if on waves, strewn with countless swarming rats who strove to climb onto the bed and under the blanket.

An old acquaintance, found sitting on the headboard, was caught red-handed in the middle of a meal, with half a rat sticking out of its beak. Seeing the moon, he without breaking eye contact slowly pulled in a long bald rat tail, seemingly enjoying the grimace of disgust on the face of the princess. Her shock was understandable: until now, it had never occurred to her to eat something in the world of dreams. It was as wrong, as unnatural as it was to find an outside owl here. In addition, he became somehow strange, as if magically glowing. Perhaps the food here influenced him that much. Finally, this feathered brat deigned to open his beak and hoot smugly.

This was the last straw for the filly hiding under the blanket. She, apparently, and the rats were not very happy, and something big and hooting that climbed into her bed was already too much. Bursting out with a loud scream of horror and despair, she literally blew the room around the bed into small fragments of a dream, setting off for an endless fall into the darkness of the unknown. The moon knew too well how such nightmares end, and therefore, without delay, she pounced on the owl who was distracted by the noise and, holding him tightly in her arms, by force of will pushed them together away from the world of dreams.

In the next instant, the princess felt the cold marble floor of the Canterlot castle against her cheek. The darkness around him parted, driven away by the moonlight. A large ball of feathers, extremely dissatisfied with such a rude and unceremonious treatment, diligently pulled out of their hooves, flapping wings and powerful paws with razor-sharp claws. It's a miracle that he hasn't ruined the princess's fur yet. Fearing for her safety, she involuntarily pushed the raging bird away.

Wow! - the owl exclaimed angrily and rushed to the attack. But not the princess, he just diligently avoided her, recognizing her as a serious adversary, significantly surpassing his size. Instead, the feathered mischief, sparkling with yellow eyes shining in the twilight, began to take out its anger and discontent on everything around: its claws tore tapestries and curtains, its strong beak smashed stained-glass windows and windows. At some point, he even managed to overturn a heavy throne, clinging to its top and diligently working out of the way with powerful wings. All this was accompanied by disgruntled hooting and shouts.

The guards, as usual, slept side by side at the post, so the Moon had to take over the capture of the unfortunate pest. Chasing an owl through the night corridors is a dubious pleasure, but the princess unexpectedly felt some hunting excitement for herself, imagining how great a stuffed animal of this monster would look on the dresser of her bedroom. However, she immediately dismissed this thought, reminding herself that she was supposed to be an example of kindness and forgiveness, so that she could not afford any kind of suicide. Well, maybe a little bit.

Meanwhile, a route of pursuit and destruction led them to the wing where Celestia's quarters were located. It was impossible to hesitate any longer. After carefully calculating the distance to the owl, Luna hurled one of the lavender flower pots everywhere. Fortunately or unfortunately, her throw was unsuccessful: she never hit the bird. The cunning beast made a pirouette at the last moment and avoided a collision with a projectile. But the owl could not miss the column next to it, slamming into it with full swing at full speed. While the stunned bird slowly slid down, Luna grabbed the nearest curtain and, tearing it off the window, carefully wrapped her victim in swaddling clothes. It turned out to be something very touching, fluffy and big-eyed.

Very pleased with herself, the princess was perplexedly twirling her trophy in her hooves, not knowing what to do with it next. The owl began to come to his senses and twitch discontentedly, trying in vain to free himself from captivity. Its beak flew open, about to burst into angry screams again.

Shh! Luna hissed at him, pressing her hoof to her lips. - Look, I understand that you are unhappy, but I didn’t want to hurt you. I was just worried that nothing would happen to you. I had absolutely no intention of attacking you! At least until you started destroying everything around you. If you calm down and promise not to do this again, then I will let you go, okay?

The owl quieted down, as if pondering this proposal. Slyly screwing up his glowing eyes, he seemed to hooted in agreement.

No, I won't buy it, - the princess looked at him skeptically, wondering what to do next. Literally a minute later, tired of this, she decided to shift the responsibility for this onto her sister, since her bedroom was very close. Opening the door slightly, Luna stuck a pug and a swaddled owl inside. - Sister?

Mrrrh, ”a pile of blankets muttered back to her.

I caught an owl here. He eats dreams, glows and misbehaves! - laughed Luna. The bird, on the other hand, looked full of self-righteousness and pride.

M-y-y-rgh, - something in the depths of the bed flinched listlessly. - Shh ... light ...

Mmmm, ”Luna drawled, painfully deciphering what she had heard. - Well, that's a good idea.

Closing the doors of the bedchamber, the princess began to instruct Owl.

Listen to me carefully, a miracle in feathers, ”she began, staring intently into the eyes of the victim. Summoning all her intimidation to help, remembering the images of Nightmare Moon, she continued. “Now you will go to Ponyville to the Twilight Sparkle. She will definitely figure out what kind of miracle you are. If you allow yourself to deviate from the path and not arrive at the place tonight, I swear by moon craters, after I finish with you, your feathers will be found in the most remote corners of the world several millennia later, I will tear you into so many small pieces!

And in confirmation of her words, Luna pulled out one of the owl's feathers. He shuddered, more from surprise than from pain, and immediately somehow drooped, diminishing zeal and thirst for revenge. The princess, having made sure of the effectiveness of her conviction, unraveled the bird from the curtain and let it go. She, ruffling, spread her wings a couple of times, laying the feathers as it should, twisted her head from side to side, flashed her eyes, but then blinked in agreement, not so much being fooled by threats as doing a favor. As if saying: "Okay, I'm flying to this Twilight Sparkle of yours, let's see what she has there."

Having announced the corridors of the castle with a loud “Wow!”, From which Celestia almost fell out of bed, the owl flew away in the direction of Ponyville, to a small window in the crown of the library tree, where another fateful meeting awaited him.

Episode Twenty of Season Nine

The season is about to end and the series will end with it. And there is still nothing to write nonsense on Saturdays. I started all of these posts as a little skill building workout, week after week, month after month. But as a student who does not receive a dictation check to work on errors, so I cannot do anything with all this variety of letters. I don’t know it’s good, bad, what should be improved, what should be left, which points to pay attention to and which ones, on the contrary, turned out great. Without this, there is little chance of getting better. Just typing on the keyboard is not enough. sigh This time I went a little further in my influence on the actions of the characters, let's see what they say about it. Links to you:

16: About Princesses, Boxes, and Princesses in Boxes

Twilight, are you ready to go? - Applejack tilted her head in question. The rest of the friends, gathered in the hallway of the crystal castle, stared worriedly at the purple filly. - The train leaves in two hours.

Yes, it's all right! - the alicorn nodded curtly, nervously spinning her ear. - Everything is fine.

Wow, you're holding on so well! - interjected Pinkie Pie, jumping out from behind her back. “With this awfully important exam of yours in royal etiquette, I was sure that you would start to get nervous and worried again. Add to this the oppressive responsibility for the school of friendship, the responsible place hanging over you on the throne of Equestria and the subsequent responsibility for the life and fate of every inhabitant of Equestria, as well as an equally huge responsibility for the movement of the heavenly bodies! Did I mention responsibility already? By the way, you handle all this responsibly!

Hehe, thanks, Pinky, - the princess giggled nervously, her eyelid began to tremble a little. - You always know how to support!

Yeah, of course. ”Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. “Be that as it may, we also need to hurry to get our things. And if a light bag is enough for me, then some divas and their tame dragons have been packing a whole carriage since yesterday. So we'll go for now. See you right there in an hour. Try to do without the twisteric while we're gone.

Yes, I would not have thought! - the alicorn mocked, smiling tightly.

I can stay here and be with you, - offered Fluttershy, - if you don't mind, of course. And my luggage will be handed over by the animals.

Look after her, sugar, ”Applejack nodded to her. “We’ll be gone for just an hour.

What could happen? - Pegasus smiled sweetly, waving her hoof goodbye.

We were away for only an hour! Applejack stamped her foot angrily. - Where is Twilight? What's happened?!

Well ... I ... - Fluttershy hesitated in confusion, instinctively hiding behind her mane. “I… She… just… said that she had forgotten something and walked away for a minute.

Let me guess: she ran just a minute and never came back, right? Rainbow Dash interjected.

But she said she forgot a very important book on poultry food varieties, ”Fluttershy backed up defendingly.

You were circled around your hoof like a foal! - the rainbow-maned pegasus covered her face with a hoof in frustration. - Be that as it may, we ...

We should split up and search the castle and the surrounding area, ”Applejack suggested.

Ooh, it'll be like a game of hide and seek! - Pinkie Pie was pretty bouncing on the spot. A couple of birds flew past her head, nearly kicking a crash in the air. Fortunately, nothing happened. The birds perched on the yellow pegasus' helpfully substituted hoof and chirped in vain.

Isolde and Isolde say the spider Clemens saw Twilight, ”Fluttershy translated.

Wonderful! Applejack chuckled contentedly, sliding her hat back. “Although I’m still a little scared of all these conversations with the beast.

Oh, don't worry, Winona knows how to keep secrets. And me too, - the pegasus smiled sweetly. - Come on, Clemens lives opposite the entrance to the basement.

The basement… ”Rainbow Dash drawled in confusion. - Oh no! Not again!

The basement rooms of the crystal castle greeted them with twilight and a mixture of smells of old books, dust, wood and something else indescribable, peculiar only to libraries. Experienced readers say only by one smell in the library can understand how well the accounting is carried out here, take care of books and how long the librarian has washed. This particular room smelled extremely unpleasant and disturbing.

Twilight? Applejack called softly.

Tva-a-a-a-a-a-ait! - in a singsong voice stretched out Pinkie Pie, who had climbed out in front of her. - Twi-Twi-Twi-Twi!

Pinky, I don't think that ... - the rainbow-maned pegasus reproachfully began to scold her friend when something slipped somewhere in the dusty depths of the basement. - ... will it work?

There! - commanded Applejack and her friends followed her into the dusty depths. Piles of books, various shelves and boxes, heaps of rubbish and other "what if it might come in handy" rubbish towered around. Pinkie Pie suddenly stopped in front of an overturned box.

My sensitive kicky feeling is sensitive to something. Suspicious! she said, pointing to the find. - Just look how my ear twitches!

Twilight! Rainbow Dash barked sharply next to the suspicious box. She jumped in surprise and dashed off on her four lavender hooves. Fortunately or unfortunately, she could not run far blindly. With a dull cry, the box crashed into the wall and froze. The tip of a very familiar tail remained sticking out from under the cardboard.

Twi, you behave like a foal, ”Applejack began reproachfully. “The train to Canterlot is leaving soon. After all, you are not going to the coronation, but to a purely formal exam. Well, let there be no turning back, you already went to this, you prepared and everything was in order! Stop toil yourself with foolishness and get out!

This is ridiculous! Applejack covered her face with her hooves.

Not so funny, ”Pinkie Pie corrected her. - And I can smell the funny a mile away!

There is no time for this nonsense, ”Rainbow Dash threw and rushed to the box, with the obvious intention of simply taking it away. A step away from the target, she was imprinted with a swing into a barely noticeable magical field, which went pinkish ripples from the impact.

I said no! - shouted the box again, in addition to her words, throwing everyone around away with a magical impulse. Piles of books rained down, heaps were flung, clouds of dust rose.

So, that's it, that's enough for me, - spitting and brushing off the dirt, the rainbow-maned pegasus growled angrily. - Now you will get it from me!

But instead of throwing herself on the box, she rushed out of the basement at full speed. The remaining filly looked at each other in bewilderment. There was an awkward silence, even the box moved, not understanding what was happening. As soon as Applejack opened his mouth to offer another option, Starlight and Rainbow Dash appeared in the basement with a magical flash. The unicorn was holding a mug of coffee and an open newspaper in front of her. On her face there was a sullen expression reflecting both a certain degree of irritation and deep contempt for the whole situation.

-… and she's there… that is, already here. See? - finished her explanation of the pegasus.

Starlight slowly took a deep breath, then exhaled just as slowly through her nose. Taking a sip from the mug, she slowly moved to the box. Reaching the magic barrier, the unicorn lightly poked it with her hoof, accompanied by a short flash of magic on her horn, and the barely noticeable transparent sphere with a soundless crash shattered into fragments. The box, it seemed, anticipating trouble, involuntarily shrank and trembled.

Starlight didn't stand on ceremony and just lifted the box with her magic. Surprisingly, there was no one under it. Then the unicorn raised her head and saw Twilight, with all her hooves resting against the walls of the box, not going to leave her stronghold of irresponsibility. Starlight had to shake the box well several times, after which the alicorn, with the grace of a goose, fell out of it with a short cry after two portions of punch. After that, her cardboard shelter instantly burnt to ashes, leaving behind not even a handful of ash.

I ... - Twilight just managed to get to her feet, but her words were immediately interrupted by a sweeping slap of a rolled-up newspaper on the face. - Ay!

You will behave well, ”Starlight said softly in a mentoring tone, reinforcing her words with another slap. - You will be a diligent princess.

Will! Twalight shouted through the blows flying at her.

And if you don’t, then I’ll find you, I’ll come to you and I’ll make you be the best, ”the unicorn finished, poking the alicorn in the nose with a rolled-up newspaper.

Um, are you sure this will work? - Applejack looked at each other incredulously. - Don't you think this method is a little ... extreme? It won't affect her behavior and all that?

No, - Starlight calmly explained, - this is an old, long-forgotten technique of suggestion, it works flawlessly, admire it yourself.

Girls? - Twilight looked around in bewilderment. - What? Where I am? Why aren't we on the train? God, we're late!

With that, the alicorn and her friends disappeared in a flash of light, leaving Starlight alone in the basement.

Hmm, and no gratitude, as always - she muttered under her breath, taking another sip of coffee before teleporting away too.

Thanks Klemm and

15: Title

Is the Great and Mighty Trixie so great and powerful? Has this question left her for a while? Time after time, she involuntarily returned to him, watching from the wings as her audience dispersed. Sitting in her trailer, languidly chewing on a sandwich with a chamomile that had not been eaten since yesterday, already a little stale, the unicorn looked sadly at her simple belongings. For an outside pony, these ordinary objects might seem truly magical, but who, if not a master illusionist, knows that this is nothing more than smoke and mirrors.

Trixie remembered the first time that thought occurred to her. The sight of empty rows in the hall distracted her from the performance, which is why the whole trick with a bouquet from a hat went down the drain. And although the audience took it as part of the performance, a kind of playful trick of a real magician, the unicorn reproached herself more than once at that time. This and many other failed cases disturbed her at night, not allowing her to sleep normally, forcing them to rehearse them even in a dream, experiencing that shame over and over again. In a way, it even did her good.

Trixie gulped down the last bite of the sandwich without appetite, which nearly went across her throat. Having washed it down with a couple of sips of water, she slowly stomped to her hammock and fell heavily into it. The carriage responded with an unhappy creak, glass smoky spheres rang in its box, somewhere in the depths one of the bouquets of magic wands went off. But the unicorn didn't care at all.

Mentally, she was transported to childhood, at a time when she and her father traveled around the cities with his show. Every day was like a holiday, each of his performances attracted crowds of spectators and drew a storm of applause. Trixie admired every word from the stage, followed every movement. It was a miracle for her from childhood. The way her father made the audience tremble in amazement with just a simple device or banal dexterity of hooves. The tricks themselves were striking in their elegance and sophistication. There is nothing surprising in the fact that the young unicorn very soon tried on her first illusionist cloak.

Lying with her eyelids closed, Trixie smiled mirthlessly. That cloak with hand-sewn crooked stars, all patched and patched, lay somewhere in the depths of the trailer. By the way, her house on wheels is not far from the old faded rag into which it turned over time. Creaky, unreliable, uncomfortable and extremely annoying, it seemed to be her place of residence for her whole life. The same creaky and unreliable.

Today again no one came to her performance. Again in the hall were only her faithful and only friend of Starlight, Pinkie Pie, who seemed to never miss a single event at all, and Maud and her boyfriend, who came along with a pink misunderstanding. Trixie played her show like clockwork, as usual flawlessly and flawlessly. Of course, the audience was delighted and the unicorn was sincerely grateful to everyone who came, even to this boring stick lover. And yet a wave of despair again covered her head.

It was like a swamp, like a viscous bog, slowly and surely pulling the cradle to the bottom. And even knowing how to swim, applying all her strength to the last, Trixie could only keep afloat, slightly sticking her nose out over the fetid muddy slime. But her strength was running out. With each stroke, she weakened, each performance brought less and less impact, each time the smile on her face became more and more fake. Until this grimace finally froze on her, becoming almost a death mask, hiding a tear-stained crumpled face.

And yet, is the Great and Mighty Trixie so great and powerful? No, not at all. She is as weak and lonely in the face of adversity as other ponies. She's just very good at pretending and lying. Others, myself, even the universe itself. The more and louder you shout about your own power, the more it seems. But the fact of the matter is that it seems that all this is just an illusion, nothing more than self-hypnosis. Optical illusion, smoke and mirrors. Break one and ...

Hey, blue blues, stop smearing snot on the hammock and get your croup here! A harsh, rough voice unceremoniously invaded Trixie's self-pitying half-asleep. The unicorn sluggishly opened one tear-stained eye and immediately closed it with a dirty curse. Life on the road teaches not only good things, including vocabulary. Fortunately, the visitor outside did not hear her. Probably.

I heard everything! - a refutation was immediately heard. - She herself! If you don’t come out immediately, I’ll force you!

Ha, let him try. Trixie doesn't care what happens to her. It just couldn't be worse. Even death will bring only deliverance from this torment that is called life.

Well, you asked for it yourself, - the uninvited guest pronounced menacingly and the unicorn was blinded for a moment from a bright flash. In the next second, the hammock disappeared from under it, and the cozy and familiar smell of a trailer with smoke was instantly replaced by other aromas. Unexpectedly, Trixie found herself at a nearby cafe table. Opposite her sat a rather smiling Starlight, who had arrived at the wrong time and snapped off an acute attack of blues. On the table between them was a weighty ice cream cake with the image of a certain notorious illusionist.

14: Under the Star Blanket

The warm August breeze gently swayed the branches of the trees. The green foliage here and there was full of sparks of yellowness, hinting at the imminent arrival of autumn. The puddles left after a recent thunderstorm surrounded themselves with a halo of late flowers pollen. Nature seemed to be enjoying its last summer breath before dressing up in golden autumn outfits.

Starlight Glimmer stood at the window of her office and looked at the idyll in front of her. There was a pensive half-smile on her face, and a mug of something fragrant hovered in front of her. The breeze slightly ruffled the filly's slightly disheveled mane, not even thinking of encroaching on the huge piles of papers on the table. The spell to protect against flying and falling documents and scrolls was working properly.

From the side of the unicorn, she would have looked happy and peaceful, if not for one “but”: the size of the bags under her eyes could compete only with the size of the sheaf of papers that she had to make out. And this is on the eve of the beginning of the new academic year, when the school is filled with students who have arrived in advance to settle down. And Starlight was obliged to make sure everything went smoothly, and not like the last time, when an international scandal almost happened with the risk of escalating into a declaration of war with five friendly races at once.

The filly's eye twitched when there was a knock on the door. She didn’t have time to answer anything, as the visitor had already opened the door, creating a draft. The wind rushed into the room with a fierce force, sweeping the spell off the piles of papers and tossing them into the air, juggling with them like a maddened illusionist sipping fortified cider after Saturday's show in Appaloosa. Several carefully disassembled and sorted piles turned into a chaotic ocean of several shades of white, spreading across the floor of the office in a cellulose veil.

Um ... oh? - Gallus squeezed out of himself, appearing from behind the door finally. - Sorry, I could not even imagine that this would happen.

Starlight's eye twitched once more. The world seemed to be about to split into pieces around her, self-ashing and apologizing along the way in several languages. Fortunately, this did not happen. The unicorn inhaled deeply, then exhaled. Putting the mug on the now empty table, she opened the drawer and took out a blanket-plaid embroidered with stars in pastel colors. Throwing it over herself, right over her head, like a cloak, she sat down straight on the floor, leaning her elbows on the table and fluttered her mug back. Taking a long sip, Starlight finally looked up at the griffin. Looking at him intently, as if trying to figure out what to do with him now, she nodded curtly to a seat next to him, inviting him to join.

What brought you to me in ... - the filly faltered, swallowing a lump in her throat, - at such and such a time? You're on vacation.

I… I wanted to talk to you, ”the griffin hesitated, shifting from foot to foot in confusion, but still made up his mind and came up, sitting down next to him. - I ... I am worried about something.

Starlight took another sip and turned to Gallus, showing that she was listening intently. The effect was blurred a little by the fact that the plaid was still on her, and therefore when she turned, only part of her muzzle was sticking out.

Um, okay, - the griffin looked in bewilderment at the deputy headmaster of the school and a social teacher in combination, carefully looking at him from the depths of a blanket embroidered with stars. Still, the ponies did not stop surprising him. - Okay. Here's the thing ... I kind of a little, just a little don't want to go back to school.

Why would you? Starlight asked, snorting aside the interfering end of the blanket.

You see, I don't have many friends at home. ”Gallus set his tail in confusion and began fiddling with his tassel. “Griffins aren’t friends, so I spent most of the summer alone. The rest of the students and I corresponded occasionally, but for the most part nothing happened. But so many things happened for the rest. They have fun and enjoy life. Unlike the way I waste my life, day after day, one day after another, boring and dull as the bare rocks of Griffinstone. Now I don't want to go back to school. Don't get me wrong, I am glad to return to friends and to interesting activities, here you have something interesting going on all the time. But in the end we still have to part! I will have to return to my homeland, to bare rocks and unfriendly griffins. I will become the same as them: gray, dull, joyless and rude. And I ... I'm afraid of that, I don't want such a future! I just can't get rid of these thoughts.

Starlight nodded in understanding and, without a word, slandered another blanket. Having covered Gallus with them, to which he muttered “thank you” in confusion, she teleported a cup of fresh hot cocoa from somewhere and handed it to her guest. Looking at her half-empty mug, she gulped down what was there and it disappeared in a magical flash, in its place a new one appeared, already full. Raising the mug slightly, as if making a toast, forcing Gallus to drink, the unicorn took a sip and closed her eyes blissfully. The griffin, still immersed in his sad thoughts, took a sip without hesitation. Hot, sweet cocoa burned my throat for a moment, but the pain immediately followed some relaxation and the body was filled with warmth as if from within, while a soft tender blanket warmed him from the outside, like a hug.

You can never predict what awaits you in the future, - Starlight said quietly, looking somewhere into the space in front of her. - One moment you are happy with your best friends, and the other you are parting forever. You try to change this, and now it seems that you are happy in your own village, but suddenly again someone comes and destroys everything that you are used to, takes away everything that you loved. And no matter how much you want to give up everything that was, no matter how scary it is to move forward into the unknown, remember ...

Starlight took another sip and fell silent. The griffin also sat quietly, waiting for the continuation, but the unicorn continued to look lost in nowhere. So Gallusu could not resist and asked again:

Remember what?

A? What am I talking about? - the filly recovered, shuddering. - Oh, well, yes. Remember that everything will be fine in the end and everything will work out. Sooner or later, one way or another.

You weren't talking about me right now, were you? Gallus asked, squinting suspiciously.

No, - hesitated, sighed Starlight. Turning to the griffin, she looked at him with completely different eyes, not as a deputy director, but as someone who fully understands and shares his fear, a look full of sympathy and empathy. - You know, running away from my past and future, I made a lot of mistakes. I did the unthinkable and who knows how everything would have turned out if I had not been prompted on the right path.

You're talking about Director Twilight, right? Gallus guessed. “I heard this story from Rainbow Dash.

It was Twilight who eventually explained to me that it's okay to be afraid. That there is no need to hold on to what was in the past. That everyone can get better. ”Starlight furtively blinked a tear and smiled. - Twilight generally likes to explain.

You can't take that away from her, ”the griffin grinned, smiling back.

You are a good griffin, Gallus, ”the unicorn nodded to him. - And this does not mean that you should be the same as your Grandfather Graff ...

He’s not my grandfather, he’s not even my relative, ”Gallus corrected her, but she brushed it off.

Who cares? There are wonderful griffins like the postman Gabby or even Gilda. ”The filly frowned, trying to remember at least one more. Pinkie Pie was talking about the sweet-baking griffin. But Pinky talks too much and not all of her words make any sense. Starlight shook her head. - Whatever one may say, but your reluctance to return to school is completely illogical. Instead of spending more time with everyone, enjoying each other's company, you propose to break up right now and deprive yourself of it all. Understand that your future belongs only to you. You don't have to become a grumpy old plucked griffin like this "not your grandfather". Your friends just won't let you. You know, I bet even if you try, you won't succeed!

Do you think? - Gallus cleared his throat, ruffled the feathers on his head, closed one eye with a wing and in a grumpy, raspy voice of Graff recited: - You will all know where the yaks winter!

The comic of this scene was added by the blanket on his shoulders. Starlight couldn't help laughing.

Is very similar!

Ocellos gave me a couple of lessons, ”Gallus admitted, smiling. Sighing, he clarified in a serious tone: - So you say I should not be afraid of either returning to school after summer holidays, or of what awaits me in the future? That I am not doomed to become ... so.

Only if you want to. Yeah, sort of, ”Starlight nodded as she finished her second mug of cocoa. Rising to her feet, she scanned the floor. - Whatever is done, everything is for the best. For example, we've got a mess here, right?

And what is there for the best? - the griffin tilted his head in bewilderment.

And then, - Starlight grinned, - that now you will help me to deal with all these papers.

Yes, now I believe the Rainbow Dash stories, ”Gallus chuckled, starting to pick up the papers. - There is no doubt about your insidious past.

Twilight Sparkle has a secret: for many years she had sexual relations with her brother, Shining Armor. But now, when her brother is married to the beautiful Princess Caidense, what will become of their forbidden relationship?

Zebra and man celebrate the anniversary of their life together.

Note: I've been planning to write something like this for a long time. Just a sketch on the theme of the free fantasy of the love relationship of a zebra and a man. Poems are not a writer (and not a writer at all), as I could - so rhymed.

Many thanks to my good friend, the artist RouenShi. In fact, this is a collaboration in one of his AUs, with Chrysalis, Molestia and Nightmare living under the same roof. Well, the OSom artist, yes. To the courtier.

It was a hell of a lot of fun to work with, complementing each other and encouraging new details. Links to his illustrations for fick can be seen in this text. And a small fact. Almost all small details like ribbons and wipes can be seen on the art "after". How many of them we came up with ... Also thanks to everyone who participated in the interactive "Whose raft is better?" on the same storm. Counting their votes allowed us to determine the winner, although for a "dramatic" effect, we tripled the votes on both sides. It is unlikely, however, those guys will see it, but why not thank?

Enjoy reading.

Well, now it's time for another sketch. 2 pages describing how the most ordinary student (Yes, this is about you) goes to Equestria.
